Day Wise Itinerary

Day 1 :
ARRIVE COIMBATORE * ON TO OOTY ( 95 KMS / APPROX. 4 HOURS DRIVE )

Welcome to your 'Beauty of Southern Hills' tour! On arrival at the airport / railway station in Coimbatore, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Ooty.
The rest of the day is at leisure.
Overnight in Ooty.

Day 2 :
IN OOTY * EXCURSION TO COONOOR

his morning after breakfast, you will enjoy a tour of the 'Queen of the Blue Mountains', that includes a visit to Dodabetta Peak for a spectacular view, Botanical Gardens, Rose Garden and Art Gallery. Later, drive to Coonoor and visit Sims Park and Dolphin nose point.
The Dodabetta Peak is situated merely 10 km away from Ooty. Doddabetta Peak derived its name from the Badaga Tribe word which means Big Mountain, tracing it roots way back to the Kannada language and Badaga aural based language. The Doddabetta Peak stands at an altitude of 2,623 meters and is said to be one of the highest peaks in South India and one of the famous tourist spots in India.
One of the famous attraction of Ooty is the Botanical Garden. This garden was laid out in 1897 by the Marquis of Tweedale. Presently this garden is under the maintenance of Horticulture Department of Tamilnadu. The garden features thousands of species of plants, shrubs, ferns, trees, herbal plants etc.
Rose Garden or Centenary Rose Park is situated in the heart of Ooty town. It is the largest Rose Garden in India laid out to commemorate the centenary Flower Show in Government Botanical Gardens. The garden is laid out with a path into the rose garden with pergolas and bowers covered with rose creepers. Today, this garden has the largest collections of roses in the country, around 2241 varieties of roses like Hybrid Tea Roses, miniature rose, Floribunda, Ramblers, roses of unusual colors like black, green and many more varieties of roses that will captivate your senses.
Art Gallery is located on the Ooty - Mysore Road, this museum has on display various artifacts of tribal people, among which are sculptures and artworks from Toda tribe and objects detailing the ecological features of the region. It was set up in 1989, with an aim to familiarize people about the Tribal lifestyle and culture of the native Toda Tribe. This museum displays various arts and crafts items including sculptures and items of use by the Toda Tribes.
Later, drive to Coonoor and visit Sim's Park and Dolphin's Nose Point.
Situated at a height of 1780 m above sea level Sim's Park has a collection of over 1,000 plant species that includes magnolia, pines, tree ferns, and camellia.
Dolphin's nose is located 10 km away from Coonoor. The protruding rock formation looks exactly like the nose of a dolphin hence the name. Dolphin's nose is a great vantage point that offers a panoramic view of the surrounding areas.
The rest of the evening is at leisure. One can opt to enjoy a boat ride at Ooty lake (On direct payment basis).

Day 3 :
OOTY * ONTO MUNNAR (250 KMS/ APPROX 6 HOURS DRIVE)

After breakfast, proceed on a drive through the picturesque countryside to Munnar, a popular gateway retreat during the British Raj which is surrounded by lush green tea estates. On arrival, check-in to your hotel.
The rest of the day is at leisure to explore this quaint hill station.

Day 4 :
IN MUNNAR

Today morning, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Munnar, which includes a visit to the charming old Christ Church, Rose Garden, Tata Tea Museum, Mattupetty Lake and Echo Point.
The rest of the day is at leisure to explore this quaint hill station.

Day 5 :
ON TO KODAIKANAL (165 KMS / APPROX. 4 HOURS DRIVE)

Today, your picturesque journey continues through the Palani hills to another scenic hill station- Kodaikanal. On arrival, check-in to your hotel.

Day 6 :
IN KODAIKANAL
 
Today, proceed on a sightseeing tour of Kodaikanal visiting places like the Pillar Rocks, Coaker's walk and the, magnificent Bear-Shola falls.
The Pillar rocks are three granite boulders which are seen standing vertically shoulder to shoulder and is now a very famous tourist spot for many visitors.
The Bear Shola falls is another favorite tourist spot in Kodaikanal and it is called so, because in earlier days bears used to come and drink water from this fall.
Coacker's Walk provides very picturesque view of the plains as well as scenic valleys that is sure to bring joy in the minds of the visitors. Coaker's walk is named after Lt. Coaker, who prepared the map of Kodaikanal.
The rest of the day is at leisure. One can spend some time in Bryant Park or enjoy boating on the beautiful Kodai Lake (On direct payment basis).

Day 7 :
DEPART KODAIKANAL

Today, bid farewell to your 'Beauty of Southern Hills' tour as you are transferred from your hotel in Kodaikanal to the airport / railway station in Madurai for your onward journey.
